Hurray! Our Birth-Day inspiration is having her baby! Not right this minute but soon. Her induction is scheduled for Thursday. Will and the kids and I are traveling out toward the Panhandle today. They will drop me off to be with Jen and then drive on out to Grandma Mary’s.
If you think of it, say a little prayer for the mommy-to-be and her beautiful, happy, healthy baby. And if you’d like to share your birth story (We’d love to read it!), please leave a link in the comments. If Jen gives her permission I will post her story next Thursday.
See you next week!

Do you know what this is?
Anyone? Anyone? …. It’s a hovercraft! And we built it! By “we” I mean Grandpa S. & myself. Sister helped a bit, measuring and fetching tools before the blazing 75 degree heat started to wear on her delicate constitution. After that point she popped in occasionally to inquire, “Is it ready yet?” until of course we reached the “test pilot” phase of construction. Apparently heat doesn’t affect test pilots. J
In the interest of full disclosure I should mention that it took us 5 design changes before we finally got any hover at all and 7 or 8 changes before we were (somewhat) satisfied with the results and called it a day.
Want to build your own? You’ll need these plans and about 5 hours of free time. Want to see this type of hovercraft in action? Check out our inspiration. (We love Dragonfly TV.)

This is not a post. It is simply a little note to let you know I’m still alive. No one is sick. I am not too busy to write. I don’t have writer’s block. Bloggable things are happening every day.
After several days of considering putting limits on the kids’ screen time, I have come to the conclusion that in fact I spend more time in front of a screen than either of them and that actually most of their screen time is simply a response to my, “Uhm, just a minute. Mommy will play with you right after she finishes this paragraph.”
This silence… it’s an experiment of sorts. A reminder, if you will, that life exists even if there is no one blogging about it.
