Advent Stocking 6 and other stuff

”Call someone on the telephone and sing ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas.’
Sister quickly decided to call cousin J. She practiced a few times first. The song part was cute but I have to say that listening to two under 6yr olds have a phone conversation is painful at best. I had hoped we would call someone else (ie one of the grandparents) later as a family but instead we went out for Chinese almost as soon as Will walked in the door and then to Hobby Lobby after that. Each year it is our tradition to each pick out an ornament that we like or that we think represents the past year. After looking through three packed isles Brother found an airplane. He picked it just because he liked it but it makes me think of his special ride with Granddad James. Sister settled on a lovely snowflake ”because it snowed this year.”
In other news - I received an odd package today- a plumb laser sent in for repair by Ed somebody in Chicago. It was apparently supposed to go to Hilti but came instead to me. I called Ed and left a message. In the meantime we (Will) figured out how to work the thing so we turned out the lights and had a quick lesson in lasers, sprinkling talcum powder so we could see the beam.
